Comenius Blog - Main Page

Welcome to read Blog for Comenius LLP Project "Mobility and Home".

This Blog is used as a Project Diary for main projects activities. Please feel free to comment all writings!

Idea for this Comenius Projects was born during Teachers Further Education Course at the beautiful Cyclatic Island, in Naxos. Project plan was worked out at Preliminary Meeting in Italy, in Livorvo and in Elba Island during the spring 2007. Project was accepted by the National Agencies with high evaluation points, in Greece, Italy, Germany, Lithuania and Finland. Teachers and students from Naxos, Caluso, Hannover, Palanga, Hämeenlinna and Helsinki were involved to "Mobility and Home - Europe in Motion" Comenius Lifelong Learning Project. Project activities will officially end by 1st of October 2009, but we hope that many ideas and relationships will live long since this official finishing day.

In this project participants have documented the mobility of students and their families. Both terms of home and mobility has been studied carefully and with versatile methods. The physical dimension of mobility, defined by the students’ background, their travelling activities, and their living habits, was recorded with the help of inter-active maps. In this way, ‘home’ can was experienced dynamically and provided more complex identification with one’s own origins. The study of one’s roots enabled the students to gain a better understanding of them selves and widened their European consciousness.
