Greetings from Caluso meeting!
Do you think it was too boring? Not at all. We also visited Turin, Ivrea, the Candia Lake Natural Park and the Aosta Valley with its Mont Blanc. In Ivrea we saw the Carnival Orange Battle (yes, hundreds of town people divided in combat teams, throw oranges at each other to remind the revolution against a local tyrant), the fireworks and the parades.
We also worked together: we studied the bird migration across Europe and we learnt new things, such as the likens survey to evaluate the air quality.
We organize a show presenting Canavese folk songs, music and dance (folk groups and students from Caluso Scuola Media); modern songs and dance (Ubertini students); European songs, music and dance (foreign delegations); videos ("My home is Europe" about the migration of Reed Bunting); we sang the song "Imagine" by John Lennon and the European Anthem, in various languages all together.
At the end there was a Fancy Dress Party with teachers, students and their families.
A special thank to the Caluso Municipality, the Regional Wine Promotion Office and the Winegrowers’ Cooperative of Caluso, the Candia Lake Provincial Park, the Europe Direct of Turin, the Association “Fagiolata Benefica del Castellazzo”, the Folk Dance Group “LA RONDANZA” and the Folk Song Workshop given by UNI3 from Ivrea, the Historic Group from AGLIE’, teachers and students from Caluso Scuola Media for their contribution.
